Each of the 8 beneficiaries will recruit one or two Doctoral Candidate (DC), who will be enrolled in a three-year PhD programme in the areas of
carbohydrate synthesis
conjugation techniques
nanotechnology
molecular glycobiology
cell biology
immunology
vaccinology
Owing to a network of intersectoral and transnational secondments, each DC will receive training-through-research at both academic and industrial entities. In this way, the young researchers will be confronted with R&D conditions in academic and industrial settings, and they will gather experience on how projects are managed in both sectors in line with the LERU Good Practice Elements in Doctoral Training.
